The elliptical cross section of the steel tube increases the post’s strength, since the panel is installed perpendicular to the long axis of the ellipsis, which is the post’s strongest axis. The result is that the panel stays in the proper position and doesn’t pivot along its axis. Moreover, the post’s elliptical shape gives it an undeniably esthetic appearance.

Example: An octagonal panel measuring 600 x 600 mm has an area of 0.27 m2.

A panel with this area can be installed on a 3900 mm post (height of post center of 3600 mm + ½ panel height, that is 300 mm = 3900 mm) and can withstand a wind of 145 km/h.
